SRR Hoists VPP Star Flag

Aiken, S.C. -- Dave Olson (right), Savannah River Remediation (SRR) President and Project Manager, and several SRR employees hoist the Department of Energy (DOE) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star flag, which was presented during a ceremony on May 19, 2011. To be recognized as a participant in the DOE VPP, a contractor must demonstrate excellence in these safety program elements: management leadership, employee involvement, worksite analysis, hazard prevention and control, and safety and health training.
SRR is the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site, which is owned by DOE. SRR consist of a team of companies led by URS Corp. with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Safety Management Solutions.
