Safe Work by SRR Employees Leads to $500 for United Way

AIKEN, S.C. – Barry Forde (right), Associate Director, Golden Harvest Food Bank, recently received a $500 check from Savannah River Remediation in recognition of SRR employees working the month of November 2010 without a lost day of work due to an injury.

Under an employee-based safety program, SRR employees select a United Way-member charity for each month worked without an injury and the company donates $500 to that charity. Also pictured is Robert Fields of the Saltstone Local Safety Improvement Team (LSIT), the group which selected Golden Harvest as its charity of choice.

Savannah River Remediation is the Liquid Waste contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site. SRR is composed of a team of companies led by URS Corp. with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Safety Management Solutions.
