Zero Injuries Nets Another $500 to United Way
February 18, 2010

Willis Jolly, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Barnwell County United Way, accepted a $500 check recently from Savannah River Remediation (SRR) employees Virginia Vaughn (left) and Arlene (Tootsie) Williams. The presentation was part of SRR’s Zero Injuries campaign. When SRR employees work a month without any injuries that result in days away from work, the company presents a $500 check to a local charity selected by the employees. Barnwell County United Way represented the month of November 2009 and is the fourth consecutive monthly recipient as a result of liquid waste employees working safely at the Savannah River Site. SRR is the Liquid Waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS). SRS is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is composed of a team of companies led by URS Corp. with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Safety Management Solutions
