SRR Employees Continue Working Safe; United Way Rewarded
December 1, 2009

For the third month in a row, Savannah River Remediation (SRR) employees have worked without a lost-day work injury resulting in another $500 being presented to local United Way Agency. Employees Donna King (left) and Janet Cockrell (right) present the $500 check to Janette Moyer, Executive Director of the United Way of Bamberg, Colleton and Hampton counties, as part of the employees’ Zero Injuries Campaign. Performing liquid waste operations (LWO) without a lost day work injury in August and September has led to $500 checks being presented to the United Way of Aiken County and the United Way of Allendale County. LWO employees have completed over 11.3 million safe hours of operation without missing a day of work due to a job-related injury or illness. Since SRR began its contract on July 1, 2009, LWO operations employees have worked over 1.3 million safe hours.
