SRR President, employees participate in Project Serve and Project Care

Dave Olson, Savannah River Remediation President and Project Manager, left, packages used clothing to be shipped next week from Barnwell to Alabama. The clothing will assist victims of the recent tornadoes that devastated the state. He and other SRR employees also worked at the Augusta Girl Scout Camp. They volunteered their services during annual Project Care in Barnwell and Project Serve in Augusta, both of which were held on Friday.
AIKEN, S.C. – Dave Olson, Savannah River Remediation (SRR) President and Project Manager, worked alongside dozens of SRR employees in Augusta and Barnwell today for a day of service to those areas.
SRR participated in this year's United Way Project Serve, held in Augusta, and Project Care, held in Barnwell, SC. Both Projects were held on Friday.
During the day-long effort, volunteers built bookshelves, sorted clothes for the needy and tornado victims, cleared yard debris, fixed steps and painted, in addition to other tasks that needed to be completed at the agencies. The group worked at the Gail Reyes Generations Unlimited Senior Center in Barnwell and the Augusta Girl Scout Camp.
The Savannah River Site (SRS) is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is the SRS Liquid Waste contractor for DOE. SRR is composed of personnel from a team of companies led by URS with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Safety Management Solutions.
