SRR President and Project Manager Updates Aiken Noon Rotary

AIKEN, S.C. – Dave Olson, Savannah River Remediation (SRR) President and Project Manager, told the Aiken Noon Rotary on Monday that SRR is making progress on dispositioning radioactive liquid waste at the Savannah River Site (SRS), and has made good on its quest to continue to be a good neighbor in the CSRA.
From an operational point of view, SRR remains on schedule with its work. In addition, the company is continuing the tradition of helping the community.
"We reach out to the community in many ways," Olson told the club. "We know how important it is for SRR to be a good neighbor."
Some of the community outreach SRR has conducted in the past year includes employees participating in United Way projects, like Project Vision, along with Toys for Tots, Golden Harvest Food Bank, American Heart Association Heart Walk and many other community endeavors. Olson also told the group about donations the company has made in the community, from sponsoring Aiken's annual Earth Day ceremony to providing needed funds and talent for the area's education community.
SRR is the SRS Liquid Waste contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is composed of personnel from a team of companies led by URS with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Safety Management Solutions.
