New President Named for Savannah River Remediation

AIKEN, S.C. -- Dave Olson has been named President and Project Manager of Savannah River Remediation, LLC (SRR). SRR is the Savannah River Site's (SRS) Liquid Waste contractor, a team of companies led by URS with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Safety Management Solutions. Mr. Olson has served for the past three years as SRR's Deputy Project and Operations Manager. He has provided leadership for all liquid waste operations at SRS, including safe operations of all facilities, developing strategic executive plans for delivery of all DOE project objectives while ensuring all environmental regulations are strictly maintained. |
David Pethick, General Manager of URS' Global Management & Operations Services Group said, "Dave Olson's expertise and knowledge of the operations at SRS is superb and his leadership will allow SRR to excel, accomplishing the DOE's mission to accelerate waste stabilization and tank closure at SRS."
Mr. Olson has held management positions at SRS since 1981. He was the Executive Vice President of Washington Savannah River Company, where he was responsible for all liquid waste operations. He has more than 29 years of experience in nuclear operations.
Mr. Olson recently served on the Aiken County Red Cross Board of Directors. He and his wife are residents of Aiken, SC.
