Frequently Asked Questions
What is the scope of the SRS Liquid Waste contract?
- Our scope is no different than when WSRC was operating Liquid Waste. We’ll be operating all the facilities, DWPF, ARP/MCU, Saltstone, ETP, tank farms, as well as performing tank closure.
Will there be community meetings?
- Yes, we are planning community meetings so elected officials, community leaders, stakeholders and others can meet the SRR leadership team.
How many employees will be transferring in from other locations?
- While we have some new managers coming to work on the project, only a small number of new managers will be coming in. Most of the management team you know will stay in place.
When will we get detailed organization charts?
- In the near future, we’ll roll out an organization chart. However, the more detailed organization charts will be handled on a group-by-group basis. We’ll make sure you have the information you need to do your job.
Will SRR have at least the similar level of community involvement as WSRC did?
- Reaching out and giving back to our communities are priorities for Savannah River Remediation. The SRR Team envisions supporting the charitable endeavors endorsed by WSRC. Our priorities for corporate investment in the community will concentrate on educational programs, civic/social work, health and welfare outreach, culture and the arts. We believe that this plan of comprehensive community support brings lasting local economic development and enhances our area’s high quality of life.
Will my benefits change?
- SRR proposed to adopt the current contractor pension and other benefits plans to ensure incumbent employees receive comparable pension and benefit plans that are currently provided by WSRC. New hires will be placed in a new program.
What happens to the vacation/sick time in my time bank?
- There is no change to your time bank in earned or accrued rates. That time will be recognized by SRR.
