SRS Transition Services Center Open
Savannah River Nuclear Solution (SRNS), the SRS management and operations contractor, in partnership with the Lower Savannah Council of Governments and the Georgia Department of Labor, has established a Workforce Transition Center to assist all SRS displaced workers in finding employment. SRNS leased the second floor of 237 Park Ave. S.W. for one year to house its transitional services center, which will be staffed by human resources workers from the participating agencies. The Center will provide assistance in résumé writing, financial counseling, interview workshops, and electronic job searches. Outside employers will also conduct open houses to present job opportunities at their companies.
The Transition Center includes a computer room with six work stations for résumé writing and job searches; six interview rooms for use by hiring companies; a conference room for use in seminars and workshops; a reception area; and four offices for conducting individual needs assessments. There is also dedicated workspace for the employment agencies for additional unemployment financial and benefits assistance.
The Transition Center, located at the corner of Laurens and Park in Aiken, will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Trained staff will be on hand at all times to provide assistance.
Please call (803) 644-0010 to make an appointment prior to visiting The Center.
