2011 Savannah River Remediation Family Scholarships

Program (Ten $3,000 Scholarships)

Ten Savannah River Remediation Family Scholarships, worth a total value of $30,000, will be awarded this year. Winners are selected on the basis of general ability, leadership, scholastic assessment and achievement. Final awards are made by Savannah River Remediation as appropriate.

Conditions

Scholarship payments are to be applied to any bachelor's-degree program at an accredited college or university selected by the recipient and approved by the Company. The ten $3,000 scholarship stipends will be awarded in a single payment. No restriction is placed on the amount of financial aid received from other sources.

Procedures

1. Complete and submit the application to Human Resources, Tekeya Evans, 766-H, Room 1066G.

2. REGISTER FOR THE REQUIRED SAT Reasoning Test (previously SAT I). The ACT, PSAT, or other test results are NOT ACCEPTABLE for this competition. Your high school will have the forms and information you need for this test or you may register online and find additional test information via The College Board website [www.collegeboard.com].

To be ELIGIBLE for this scholarship, the following test is required:

Eligibility

SRR Family Scholarships are open to sons and daughters of employees of Savannah River Remediation who are in their last year in public, private, home or parochial high schools. Applicants must graduate from high school after NOVEMBER 1, 2010 to be eligible. Last year of high school includes students in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade who will enter or continue college after January 1, 2011, but before January 1, 2012.

To be eligible, the applicant's parent must be employed by SRR for a period of one year or more as of May 1, 2011.

Sons and daughters of American expatriates on temporary SRR service abroad are also eligible under the above conditions. The term "children" includes natural children, adopted children, step-children, and legal wards.

Note: Sons and daughters of WSMS employees are not eligible.

* Important: You are only required to take the SAT Reasoning Test to be eligible to apply for the SRR scholarship.

Applicants must indicate on the SAT Program Form that the score of the SAT Reasoning Test is to be sent to:

When the code is submitted, scores from all tests taken previously will also be sent to SRR.

If you have already taken the required test and do not intend to take it again before the deadline, use the Report Request Form available at your high school, and immediately request the SAT Program to report the score of the SAT Reasoning Test to CODE NUMBER 3703.
